Our hope is to build the program by adding new teams as we are able. Ultimately, our goal is to field both boys and girls varsity teams. And yes, we plan to field a U12 girls team this school year, which will play in the spring (more details will be released at the appropriate time).
Also, as I'm sure you have noticed, grass is finally beginning to grow on our new soccer field. There was MUCH dirt work that had to be completed, and it was a much bigger project than expected, but thanks to Sandy Fields (VBA parent) and his hard working crews, the heavy lifting was finished. After the completion of the dirt work, a sprinkler system was installed and grass seed was planted. And now, we are waiting patiently for the grass to grow!
And, just in case you wondering, we do have several needs for the field. Some of the more pressing needs include: soccer goals, fencing, and a field lining kit. We would also be interested in purchasing a score board and bleachers. If you are interested in helping meet those needs, please contact myself or Jeff Peterson, and we would be happy to discuss our needs with you!
I trust you'll consider catching one of our home games, which are played for the time being at Cartwright Park. I am so excited about the opportunity to add another way for our students to hone their skills. Thank you for growing with us and for supporting our school and our athletic program! With your continued support, our school will continue to expand and add new programs for our student body!
