Patriot Sunday is right around the corner on Sunday, April 6, and I want to invite your family to join us for one or both services. We certainly are not trying to take you away from attending your church, but if there is a way that you and your family could be a part of this annual service, I would really appreciate it! Patriot Sunday is designed to highlight the ministry of our school before our VBC church family and school families.
Here are the details:
Elementary students will be singing in the morning service. They need to be dropped off at the school no later than 10:25a. Please have your student wear chapel attire. They will be singing two songs during the morning service. For VBC members, your children will be picked up from their Sunday school class and brought to the school meeting room.
For secondary students, Mr. Bushman will communicate with you regarding your involvement and what to wear. However, the strings orchestra will be playing on Sunday morning, and the secondary choir will be singing on Sunday night.
After the morning service is over, pre-k students can be picked up from their normal children's church location. If you do not attend Victory, their classroom is near the church nursery. Mrs. Wright will be available to direct you, if you have any questions. All other elementary students can be picked up from the church balcony because our children's ministry attendees will be sitting in the main service on Patriot Sunday.
Finally, we will be taking an offering for the school on Patriot Sunday. I trust that you will prayerfully consider taking part. As I'm sure you realize, VBA does not conduct many fundraisers, and Patriot Sunday is designed to give our school a financial boost. I would love for you to take part in this offering. Two of the big needs that we have targeted are vehicles and technology.
While VBC and VBA share vehicles, the school ends up using the vehicles a lot (field trips, ball games, etc.), and we would like to purchase two more that are similar to the ones we have recently purchased. Our desire is to share this expense with the church, which has graciously allowed the school to use the vehicles while contributing little to their upkeep.
On the technology front, it is time to upgrade our staff equipment including computers, tablets, and projectors. On top of that, it would be great if we were able to replace the machines in our computer lab.
Thank you for your support of our school, and thank you, in advance, for being a part of Patriot Sunday! I'm looking forward to a great service and to the participation of our students!
